Summer Playwriting Classes for Young Writers

The Summer Playwriting Institute, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Public Library, offers students aged 13 to 18 an opportunity to advance their talents as playwrights with a series of classes focused on developing new work.

With the guidance of professional theater artists, the Summer Playwriting Institute will give young writers the skills necessary to create their own original piece of theater. Focusing on such elements as character, setting, and conflict, writers will learn how to develop their own work and revise work already in process.
