I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you a fun story. I just got back from the NY Stage and Film Powerhouse Festival, where I was workshopping a new play. There were a bunch of apprentices who were High School and College students at the festival, and we singled out a particularly smart kid to read our stage directions. Turns out, it was Max Friedlich, who just won your NYC contest. We had a great time bonding over how awesome the Young Playwrights program has been for both of us, even if he was in it a decade after me.

It also really drove home the fact that I wouldn’t still be writing plays if hadn’t had such an amazin experience with Young Playwrights. You guys gave me so much encouragement and direction at such an important time. I’ll always be grateful.

Much love,
